Full-service resorts, hotels and camping facilities at the lake operate year-round, providing superb locations for company meetings and family vacations or weekend getaways.
The 1,733 acre W. Goodrich Jones State Forest is the location to go to for bird watching, hiking, horseback riding or biking. Two small lakes in the Forest offer limited fishing and picnicking.
Dozens of the country's top golf course designers and developers have produced a golfer's paradise in the Conroe area. There are more than 330 holes of golf in Montgomery County, offering one of the most challenging concentrations of golf courses in the nation.
In town, the Conroe Recreation Center has a full-size gym, two racquetball courts, fitness rooms with machines and free weights, treadmills, stair climbers and dance/aerobic rooms. The Acquatic Center consists of four pools. And, there are hundreds of acres of parks that have facilities for team sports, tennis, or picnics.
The arts are also represented in the Conroe area. The Crighton Theatre is home to a variety of performing arts groups. Permanent exhibits document the history of Montgomery County at the Heritage Museum. A remarkable array of musical entertainment can be found at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.

The greater Conroe area is served by three school districts that offer opportunities for students to excel in today's competitive business environment. Higher education is available at Montgomery College and The University Center, which is a partnership of six universities and the private sector.
